Royal Wootton Bassett Swapmeet and Auction - 2nd July 2023

Our next BVWS members event is at Royal Wootton Bassett on 2nd July 2023. This is a swapmeet and auction.

The stallholder booking form is available below. Further updates will be added nearer the date.

For dates of all our events please visit the Events Diary page, and for location details please see the Event Locations page.

Website Updates

We have now added 12 more years of BVWS Bulletin PDF files to the BVWS Bulletins section, taking it up to volume 42 (2017).

All BVWS Bulletin and 405 Alive PDF files now have embedded text so they can be read by search engines and screen readers etc.

New event photos have also been added to give examples of what to expect at each location.

Stallholder Booking Forms

Previously A4 printed flyers for stall-holder table bookings at events have been included with the Bulletins. Over 1200 flyers are printed for each event and depending on the number stalls available at that meeting, only 15 to 35 of them ever get used.

At a time when we are conscious of material wastage and looking to reduce costs, flyers will no longer be included in with the Bulletin (other than for RetroTechUK); instead they will be available for prospective stall-holders to download and print here.

British Vintage Wireless Society

The British Vintage Wireless Society (BVWS) is a society of over 1200 World-wide members sharing a common interest in the preservation and communication of technical and historical data, and the preservation and restoration of Vintage radio and related equipment.

We publish a quarterly Bulletin containing a wide range of restoration and historical articles, photographs of events, Society news etc. This is a high quality publication. Many earlier bulletins are available on this website.

We hold regular meetings around the UK. These meetings have stalls selling vintage radio and related items, and often also include a bring-and-buy stall, working displays of vintage equipment, historical presentations and an auction. Refreshments are available at reasonable prices. Take a look at the events diary page for current details.

The Society regularly produces supplements for members, consisting of technical, historic and documentary interest. Over the past several years we have produced (with Copyright permission) CD-ROMs of the Trader Service sheets 1 to 1899, all BVWS Bulletins no longer in print and all editions of 405 Alive magazine, several DVDs containing historic films, plus a number of other paper supplements and our own history book. These are all free to members.

Our Society relies on new membership, new Bulletin articles and new ideas to enable it to flourish and secure its future for generations to come. If you have an interest in collecting and restoring old equipment, or just looking at or listening to old radios, televisions or Hi-Fi, then why not consider becoming a BVWS member.

An application form can be found on the join the BVWS page. You could also contact the Membership Secretary who will be happy to answer any questions about the Society.
